Medellín. Audiovisual communicator and cultural manager with more than 15 years of experience creating projects focused on genre cinema, literature, and education. He has worked in reading promotion, video game storytelling, and training through audiovisual media. He is the coordinator of Fantasmagoría, Medellín’s International Fantastic Film Festival, a multidisciplinary platform that brings together cinema, literature, illustration, games, and audience development around the genre. His favorite monsters are Dracula and the Witch of Endor. He has a weakness for stories of abductions, rural horror, and ghosts.

Licenciada en Estudios Humanísticos y Sociales, Maestra en Estudios de Género y maestrante en Cine Documental.

Desde 2018, ha sido directora de comunicación y de programación de diversos festivales de cine, como MICGénero, Cuórum Morelia y Extopia, Foro/Muestra de Cine LGBT+. También ha sido evaluadora en el Consejo de Evaluación del Programa Fomento al Cine Mexicano (FOCINE) 2024, en la vertiente Exhibición, y jurado en diversos concursos y festivales de cine.

Ha dirigido y participado en cortometrajes realizados con perspectiva de género y derechos humanos.

Desde 2022 se desempeña como jefa del Departamento de Cine de la Secretaría de Cultura de Michoacán.

She holds a degree in Humanities and Social Studies, a Master's degree in Gender Studies, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Documentary Film.

Since 2018, she has served as communications and programming director for various film festivals, including MICGénero, Cuórum Morelia, and Extopia, a Forum/Showcase of LGBT+ Cinema. She has also served as an evaluator on the Evaluation Council of the Mexican Film Promotion Program (FOCINE) 2024, in the Exhibition category, and as a jury member for various film competitions and festivals.

She has directed and participated in short films made from a gender and human rights perspective.

Since 2022, she has served as Head of the Film Department at the Secretariat of Culture of Michoacán.

Nacido en Ciudad de México en 1986. Se dedicó a los derechos humanos hasta que incursionó en televisión y radio, para posteriormente llegar al cine. Ha participado en más de 30 cortometrajes, en varios de ellos también como guionista y productor, así como en producciones como “El Poderoso Victoria” y “La Laguna Rosa", y en series como "Ahora que no estás” para Prime Video, “Bandidos” (temporada 2) para Netflix y “Lobo – morir matando” para Telemundo.

Debutó como director con “El Vocho del Averno", cortometraje chilango de terror cumbiero que cuenta con más de 45 selecciones nacionales e internacionales y cinco reconocimientos como Mejor Cortometraje. En 2026, tras cuatro semanas en salas de cine de todo México, espera la llegada a plataformas de “El Ritual del Nahual", su primera película como creador y guionista, además de protagonista.

Born in Mexico City in 1986. He worked in human rights before venturing into television and radio, and eventually into film. He has appeared in more than 30 short films, serving as a screenwriter and producer on several of them, as well as in productions such as “El Poderoso Victoria” and “La Laguna Rosa”, and series including “Ahora que no estás” for Prime Video, “Bandidos” (Season 2) for Netflix, and “Lobo – morir matando” for Telemundo.

He made his directorial debut with “El Vocho del Averno”, a Mexico City–style cumbia horror short film that has received more than 45 national and international selections and five Best Short Film awards. In 2026, following a four-week theatrical run in cinemas across Mexico, he awaits the release on streaming platforms of “El Ritual del Nahual”, his first feature film as creator and screenwriter, as well as its lead actor.

Escritor de "Clarita Maldita” (Apache Libros, 2026) y autor de “Jan Mayen” (MilMadres) y "El escenario” (Olifante, 2024). Ha escrito y dirigido, junto a su equipo habitual, los cortometrajes “Greta" (2019), “Unas Cuantas Bestias” (2021), ganador del premio a Mejor Cortometraje Nacional en Muria e Isla Calavera, y “Dativa” (2023), que ha recibido diversos premios nacionales e internacionales, entre ellos Mejor Cortometraje en Cádiz, Madrid y los Premios Simón del cine aragonés. Su equipo ha obtenido en dos ocasiones el Gran Premio Sombra (2021 y 2023), y “Dativa” recibió el Premio de Fuentes de Ebro a Mejor Guion en 2023, además de pasar por ScreamFest L.A. y FILMIN.

Es crítico de cine en Aragón Radio y colaborador de Aragón TV y de la revista universitaria Zero Grados, donde escribe sobre cine y cultura cinematográfica desde 2015. También trabaja como actor de doblaje y locutor, con créditos como narrador de “Cosas de Clase” (Mediapro), voces en “Los misterios de Murdock” y “Una aldea francesa”, y participaciones en ficciones sonoras de Bosnerau Producciones.

He has written and directed, alongside his regular team, the short films “Greta” (2019), “Unas Cuantas Bestias” (2021), winner of Best National Short Film at Muria and Isla Calavera, and “Dativa” (2023), which has received several national and international awards, including Best Short Film in Cádiz and Madrid, as well as at the Simón Awards for Aragonese cinema. His team has won the Gran Premio Sombra twice (2021 and 2023), and “Dativa” received the Fuentes de Ebro Award for Best Screenplay in 2023, in addition to being screened at ScreamFest L.A. and FILMIN.

He is a film critic for Aragón Radio and a contributor to Aragón TV and the university magazine Zero Grados, where he has written about cinema and film culture since 2015. He also works as a voice actor and announcer, with credits including narration for “Cosas de Clase” (Mediapro), voice work in “Los misterios de Murdock” and “Una aldea francesa”, and participation in audio fiction productions by Bosnerau Producciones.

Reconocida como una de las figuras destacadas del género de terror en Latinoamérica. Miembro de la Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas y del Sistema Nacional de Creadores, ha sido nominada al Premio Ariel a Mejor Guion Adaptado en 2015 y 2020. Es guionista de HBO y preside la sede LATAM de la Horror Writers Association, responsable de los Bram Stoker Awards. Cuenta con cincuenta novelas publicadas, traducidas a diez idiomas, diez de ellas con estatus de bestseller, y ha recibido treinta premios literarios internacionales.

En el ámbito audiovisual, ha participado en 47 producciones como guionista, entre películas y series como Masters of Horror Japan, Nightmare Cinema y Santiago Apóstol. Dirigió El Escondite (2007), considerado el primer largometraje mexicano de found footage, además de otros tres largometrajes y seis series de televisión. Sus trabajos han sido seleccionados en festivales como Macabro, Fantasia y Sitges, y ha participado como jurado en 80 festivales de cine y literatura a nivel internacional. Es fundadora de Monstruos, programa literario y cinematográfico dedicado a impulsar a escritores y cineastas emergentes, y es la primera mexicana en escribir para maestros del terror de Hollywood.

Recognized as one of the prominent figures in the horror genre in Latin America. A member of the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences and the National System of Creators, she has been nominated for the Ariel Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2015 and 2020. She is a screenwriter for HBO and serves as president of the LATAM chapter of the Horror Writers Association, which presents the Bram Stoker Awards. She has published fifty novels, translated into ten languages, ten of which have achieved bestseller status, and has received thirty international literary awards.

In the audiovisual field, she has worked as a screenwriter on 47 productions, including films and series such as Masters of Horror Japan, Nightmare Cinema, and Santiago Apóstol. She directed El Escondite (2007), considered the first Mexican found footage feature film, as well as three other feature films and six television series. Her work has been selected for festivals such as Macabro, Fantasia, and Sitges, and she has served as a jury member at 80 international film and literary festivals. She is the founder of Monstruos, a literary and film program dedicated to supporting emerging writers and filmmakers, and is the first Mexican woman to write for Hollywood masters of horror.

Trayecto Fatal, antología de cuentos (Editorial Balam). Su obra de terror sobrenatural se encuentra entre las más leídas del género en México, aun cuando sus títulos no están disponibles en librerías y se distribuyen principalmente en ferias del libro como FIL Minería, FILEY Mérida, FIL Morelia, FENALI BUAP Puebla, FENAL León, FIL Monterrey y FIL Guadalajara.

Estudió la Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Comunicación en la Universidad Intercontinental, la Maestría en Comunicación Social en la Universidad Panamericana y la Maestría en Investigación Criminal, Criminología y Criminalística en el Colegio Internacional de Ciencias Criminológicas y Forenses. Ha impartido más de 500 ponencias y conferencias sobre creatividad, literatura, historia y filosofía en distintas partes de México, así como en Los Ángeles, California; La Habana, Cuba; Bogotá, Colombia; y Madrid y Valencia, España. Dirige el podcast Tinta de sangre, dedicado al crimen, el terror y la literatura. También desarrolla obra gráfica en dibujo, pintura y escultura, con tres exposiciones colectivas y otras tantas individuales, y ha desarrollado el guion y la instalación de una exposición sobre licantropía que ha tenido varias sedes, incluida la del Festival de Cine de Terror Aurora de 2011.

Trayecto Fatal, a short story anthology (Editorial Balam). His supernatural horror work is among the most widely read in the genre in Mexico, despite his books not being available in bookstores and being distributed primarily at book fairs such as FIL Minería, FILEY Mérida, FIL Morelia, FENALI BUAP Puebla, FENAL León, FIL Monterrey, and FIL Guadalajara.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences from Universidad Intercontinental, a Master's degree in Social Communication from Universidad Panamericana, and a Master's degree in Criminal Investigation, Criminology, and Criminalistics from Colegio Internacional de Ciencias Criminológicas y Forenses. He has given more than 500 talks and lectures on creativity, literature, history, and philosophy in various parts of Mexico, as well as in Los Angeles, California; Havana, Cuba; Bogotá, Colombia; and Madrid and Valencia, Spain. He hosts the podcast Tinta de sangre, dedicated to crime, horror, and literature. He also creates visual art in drawing, painting, and sculpture, with three group exhibitions and three solo exhibitions, and has developed the script and installation for an exhibition on lycanthropy that has been presented at several venues, including the 2011 Aurora Horror Film Festival.
